Apply for access

The index itself is open — names, schools and a sample image are visible to anyone. Full portfolios are granted to publishers, editors, agents and licensors working in international publishing.

Tell us your company and what you publish. The secretariat reviews each application and sends an access link by email. There is no fee.

Your name and role, your company, and a line or two on what you publish or represent. A link to your catalogue or website is usually enough for us to confirm who you are.

If you are applying on behalf of a group of imprints, say which one you work from. Access is granted to individuals, not to companies.

Access is granted through a personal link. Please do not forward it — the secretariat can issue a separate link for a colleague.

Day-to-day operation of the index is handled on the secretariat’s behalf by Culture Weaver GK, a publishing consultancy based in Tokyo. Your reply will come from Culture Weaver, writing for G-MAP.

Once an application is approved, we email a personal access link. Opening it once is enough; the link then remains valid on that browser for one year. We can extend it, and we can revoke it.

While the index is open to you, we record which artists are viewed and when. This is used by the secretariat to understand what publishers are looking for, and is not shared with the participating schools.
